One Shenton Way

A refined urban sanctuary designed around soft architectural lines, warm textured materials, and a calming, neutral palette. The space embodies JaBlanc’s signature concept of “Soft-Curved Minimalism,” creating a serene, gallery-like environment that balances sculptural elegance with daily living.

PROJECT CONCEPT

The core concept centers on Soft Architecture — replacing harsh edges with gentle curves, arches, and scalloped joinery to produce a fluid, calming spatial experience. A warm monochromatic scheme of oats, creams, sand, and sandy neutrals creates visual cohesion throughout. These tones are enriched by the use of blond timber and subtle brushed brass accents.

Sculpturally integrated lighting — largely through concealed LED strips — enhances the curved forms and provides soft, ambient illumination without being visually intrusive. The design favors tactile, natural-feel finishes, including painted MDF (with rounded corners), ribbed oak paneling, micro-cement style flooring, and satin metal hardware.

  • Dining / Common Area: A sculptural dining zone featuring curved portals or archways that echo the overall soft architecture theme. Seating is streamlined, with modern chairs upholstered in muted fabrics (likely grey) and a rounded dining table to match the curved design language. Overhead lighting is subtle yet architectural, possibly in pendant form, helping to draw the eye upward and emphasize the soft spatial flow.
  • Bedroom: The bed area is anchored by a calming backdrop in muted neutral tones. Built-in joinery (wardrobe + vanity) is sculptural and handle-less, contributing to a seamless, refined feel. Soft backlighting behind the joinery acts both as mood lighting and a gentle night-time glow. Decorative elements remain minimal — curated artwork and select pieces maintain a quiet sophistication.
  • Kitchen: The cabinetry is clean and minimalist, with handle-less fronts and a restrained, creamy color palette. High-quality finishes like ribbed glass doors or warm timber panels add texture without clutter. Brass or warm-metal hardware provides a refined contrast to the softer tones of the cabinets. Countertops and surfaces feel pared-back yet luxurious — likely matte finish to complement the overall soft, tactile atmosphere.
  • Material Focus: Custom millwork with rounded edges and arches, avoiding the visual hardness that comes with sharp corners. Use of ribbed wood, micro-cement or concrete-look tile, and painted wood (MDF) emphasizes a material palette that’s both organic and refined. Satin brass or similarly warm metals for a touch of elegance, without overpowering the soft aesthetic. Furniture is thoughtfully selected for comfort and tactility — soft upholstery, clean lines, and organic forms are prioritized.

The space is conceived as a quiet sanctuary in the sky, where each architectural gesture — from the arches to the lighting — serves to calm and ground.

There’s a strong sense of balance: sculptural forms feel deliberate but not cold, textured materials feel warm but not cluttered, and lighting feels expressive yet gentle.

The design feels deeply personal yet restrained, suggesting a lifestyle that values both aesthetics and ease.
